Hi everyone,

We all know I am a huge fan of kefir, a nourishing food that boasts an abundance of diverse probiotic strains that are able to colonise in our gut.

I threw this together to satisfy any chocolate cravings whilst still ticking an array of nutritional pointers!

This no added sugar chocolate kefir protein ice-cream is:

  • Probiotic rich
  • Prebiotic fibre rich
  • Antioxidant packed
  • Low glycemic index
  • High protein
  • and provides a variety of micronutrient benefits too!

No added sugar chocolate kefir protein ice-cream

 Ingredients:

1/4 cup cacao

1/2 cup babushka natural kefir

1/4 cup whey protein powder

1/2 tsp vanilla essence

1 tsp greens nutritional calcium powder

1/4 cup vitafiber prebiotic fibre powder or 1.5 tbsp natvia or your preferred sweetener to your desired taste

Optional extras:

  • Dash salt – helps bring out the flavour of the chocolate
  • Frozen fruit
  • Natural nut butter
  • Desiccated coconut
  • Superfood powders
  • Anything else you would like to add in!

Blend everything together in a high speed blender, pour into whichever tray or moulds you would like to shape your ice-cream with, freeze for a few hours, and then take out and let defrost for a minute before eating so that it is slightly smoother and creamier!
