Avocado recipes May 18, 2015 recipes, weight management Avocado recipes Hi everyone, Today we are taking a look at avocados! As someone who for years didn’t get what all the fuss is about…I have since been swayed! Maybe it was my taste buds coming of age, or maybe it was the way they have been used within dishes now with wonderful flavour combinations..either way, I’ve been converted to a fan, and therefore feel its time to allocate a post in this great foods honour! Avocados are loaded with healthy fats, called monounsaturated fats, which both help cholesterol levels and improve heart health. This, combined with their rich and creamy flavour, makes them a great inclusion in our diets. Avocados also beat out bananas in potassium content per weight, who knew? The antioxidants vitamin E and C found in avocados also mean they’re great for the skin and decreasing inflammation; and who can forget that they actually provide dietary fibre too! Here are seven of the best avocado recipes for some inspiration: 1. Avocado and date smoothie from Garlic My Soul. 2. Crab and avocado enchiladas from Gimme Some Oven. 3. Sunday salad with avocado, kale and broccoli from Feast of Green. 4. Creamy avocado pesto noodles from The Iron You. 5. Gluten-free mini avocado brownies with cacao nibs from Will Frolic for Food. 6. Avocado baked eggs with parsnip, pea, and pancetta hash from Reclaiming Yesterday. 7. Pomegranate and pistachio relish on avocado toast from Dishing up the Dirt. Drooling yet? Get in the kitchen and give some of these recipes a go! What’s your favourite dish featuring avocados? I’d love to hear in the comments below.
