Sacha Inchi Vegan Protein Powder

Sacha inch protein powder…now this is a #TDapproved product I am very excited to write about!

I discovered Sacha Inchi Protein Powder when I was internet scanning last year for a super high protein omega 3 rich plant based food product to bring into the repertoire of protein sources I was recommending (and I have used it extensively ever since!).

Sacha Inchi seeds, also known as ‘Inca Peanuts’ are native to the Amazon rainforest in Peru, where indigenous cultures have cultivated it for centuries (there are so many amazing health products to come from the South American region, aren’t there? It never ceases to amaze me!).

Sacha Inchi seeds are as you now can imagine, high in essential fatty acids, and are also a valuable source of plant sourced omega-3 fatty acids and protein..clearly winning when it comes to nutrients I always look out for!

You can buy Sacha Inchi in oil and in protein powder form, both of which are fantastically nutritious.

I am going to focus on the powder as I just love to add it to smoothies, oats, yoghurt, baking (and I am sure you can think of more places yourself too!). Check out the recipe I made a little while ago for a delicious apple chia and coconut cake here which uses Sacha Inchi protein powder.

Sacha Inchi contains not only Omega 3, but also Omega 6 and Omega 9. I have written about the Omega 6/Omega 3 balance in the past, and it’s association with inflammation and other disorders. It is suggested that nature has perfectly balanced the Omega nutrients in Sacha Inchi Powder, ensuring to keep this balance in check.

If you’re using the oil, most have been cold pressed and minimally processed to ensure that the nutritional integrity of the seed is maintained.

Sacha Inchi is also one of the most easily digested protein powders on the market, so if you’re someone who has struggled with digestive issues regarding protein supplements in the past this could be a great product to try.

With 6g of protein per 10g serving, Sacha Inchi Protein Powder is an excellent source of amino acids for vegans, vegetarians and those with an intolerance to dairy. Check out the nutritional panel… not too bad when it comes to iron, calcium and its Vitamin C content too!
