The best healthy peanut butter recipe

Hi Everyone,

If you happen to be a tad nuts about nut butter like myself, you might be excited about this delicious round up of recipes that I have put together in order to celebrate the rec. Both savoury and sweet, these recipes contain a mix of flavoursome peanut butter and whole food ingredients to create nourishing meals and snacks that can be enjoyed any time of day!

Peanuts, peanut butter and peanut oil are rich in monounsaturated “good” fats, which are essential for lowering bad cholesterol and healthy heart function. Peanut butter is also high in protein, so when combined with other healthful snacks like veggies sticks or fresh fruit, we can get just the energy hit we need to get through long working days!

It is important to be aware that not all peanut butters are made alike, and many commercial brands sold in supermarkets are loaded with sodium, palm oil, and hidden sugars that will diminish the nutritional value of the product. Generally speaking, all-natural peanut butters are going to be your healthiest and most nutritious option, as they are rich in ‘good fats’ and will not contain any hidden nasties! You can find these at your local health food store or in the health food section of your supermarkets (or if you are like me, you can make your own concoctions at home in a food processor and add delicious flavours like chocolate and hazelnut, or cinnamon and vanilla!

In even better news, those who suffer from peanut allergies do not have to miss out as alternative nut butters are now widely available.  Any of the following recipes can be substituted with almond, hazelnut, cashew or brazil nut butter – whatever takes your fancy!
