Prebiotic Diet & Resistant Starch Diet November 19, 2014 nutrition, weight management 1 Comment Hi everyone, Carrying on from my amusingly long Facebook post earlier this week about pre-biotics and resistant starch for gut health, I thought I would share with you some more excerpts from my book The Clean Separation that highlights the need to selectively fuel the good bacteria in your gut to enhance the strength of your immune system and prevent any inflammatory cascade effects that can come from stress being placed on the body. This stress can be come in many forms, be it: Emotional, Diet, Sleep deprivation, Toxins in the air, Chemicals in products that end up being used on our skin, Medications, and more. I hope this information proves useful and it helps you know what to look out for when it comes to products or foods that are promoted as either containing probiotics, prebiotics, or resistant starch. Hopefully now my obsession with products such as Skyr, Vitafiber, prebiotic rich health bars, and BARLEYmax containing foods are all starting to make a bit more sense! I’m happy to say that pistachios also have some of these prebiotic fibers too (Go Wonderful Pistachios 😉 ). Here are a few of the absolute best products I have come across to date based on either their prebiotic or probiotic provision, as well as their lack of artificial sweeteners and ingredients. They are also products that came across as a bit more unique than many others which lack a bit of a personal “spunk” factor in my eyes. Overall they are great products that I have enjoyed consuming, and hope make their way around the globe! Until next time, TD x Bupbars are pretty much quest bars but without any sucralose! They have a softer mouth feel as a result of the whey and milk protein isolates, yet the same nutrition information panel. Superfood powder – literally. Fabulous new product that really is healthy – contains marine phytoplanktons, vitamins, minerals, protein, probiotics, and all plant based. Great probiotic and prebiotic drink that allows you to only add the probiotics from the lid when you want to drink the beverage so that they don’t die! Raw Revolutions new Protein Bars – will be released in early 2015 – The fiber source is from a prebiotic fiber! Love Siggis! Super high in protein, has live active cultures, and tastes incredible! Super rich in prebiotic chicory root fiber – Budi Bar – taste sensation! nancys cultured cream cheese has live active cultures in it – very unique products Nancys cultured cottage cheeses have live cultures in them – wonderful product.
